Does your flat roof have all its drain screens?

In most cities, drain screens are required in order for your roof to be “up to code”. One of the sticklers when getting a roofing permit signed off is drain screens. The other two things are fireplace spark arrestors and Carbon Dioxide alarms inside the home. These are all potential reasons why the building inspector might not pass the final inspection. Typically, a flat roof home will have anywhere from 4-10 2″ drain holes that need to have drain screens installed. Some homes have 3″ drains, so it’s important to know the size of the drain hole prior to purchasing your drain screens. Drain screens can be purchased online, at your favorite home improvement store, or you can call us at Foam Roof Solutions and we can provide you with a roof inspection which would include cleaning any functional drain screens, replacing the bad ones an installing new ones. Feel free to give us a call at (800) 878-1480 and we can set up an appointment to make sure your drain screens are installed and functional.
